Unhappy Skill Capture Problem

I dont know if this has happened to anyone yet. But when I try to capture skills from end mission bosses like Markis in Iron Mines I cant. Now that we have to kill the bosses to captures skills we cant get skills from bosses like Markis and others. I really wish they would put capture back the way it was. It was cool to capture a skill when they were using that skill.

you can still get the skills from them the old way, its just that you can also get them when they are dead now. At least that is what I was told, havent tried it yet.

No, you can't get the skills the old way anymore.

For now its broken, but ANet is aware of that and prolly going to fix that next patch. They might add a timer before you return to city after you kill the boss, so 10-15 second to capture the skill... not hard.... if you don't fool around like an idiot

Alright, so that will fix this problem for 10% of the population, what do you think they will do for the other 90%?

As far as markis goes, there is another boss further on that has barrage. I believe it's in the abaddon's mouth mission.

What I care about more than those end bosses are the ones with no bodies. Azure Shadow bosses, rock elemental bosses, etc. Can you still capture from them?

I think they need to fix it so that you can get the elite either way. Personally I love the new way because some elites are too hard to setup the right situation for the boss to use it.

They need to change the casting time on the things too. There's no point in having a long casting time with the current implementation. That would help out with the problem of bosses at the end of missions... and yes, they should add timers to the mission endings. You've spent 20 minutes in a mission, another 20 seconds isn't going to kill anyone.

Well from what I've seen, when you try to use Sig Cap while boss is still alive and casting you get message "No dead boss available" or something to that extent and I believe the patch details are on the main page and clearly state that you can no longer use SoC on live bosses.
The intent is that in most cases bosses aren't using the elite skill often enough to make the old way viable for all players/skills. Changing it to where once a boss is dead you click and select which of their skills you want, insures that (a) you get a capture (b) its the one you wanted versus having to try multiple times just at the chance of getting one.
It's much better this way

Yes, I've captured a skill from a phantom boss that left no trace of a body. I was worried about that one myself and was plesently surprised to find they had that one covered.
